Free Shelves - Closed until further notice due to current health concerns
On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, free food items are put out on shelves in the Food Bank's front lobby area. Items may include:
- past-date bread and bakery items
- past-date canned goods or other food product (within one year of expiration)
- other grocery items
You are welcome to stop in and "shop" from these shelves to help supplement you regular groceries. Please take only what your household will consume, and bring your own bags. The Food Bank will not provide bags. All free product is "take at your own risk."
Kid Bag Program
The State College Food Bank provides an extra bag of food for each school-aged child in the summer months of June through August and in December (while supplies last). The bags include items such as: peanut butter, jelly, soup, canned fruit, pasta, cereal, fresh carrots, and milk. Items included in Kid Bags may vary. This program is made possible by the support of the Central PA Food Bank and Downtown State College Rotary Club.
Toys for Tots
State College Food Bank clients are eligible to receive toys from Toys for Tots. Clients will receive information when getting their regular food distribution, if you have not, please stop at the Food Bank Monday/Wednesday/Friday during regular distribution hours and request an information packet/registration form. Information will be available starting November 15, 2021.
The Food Bank provides two holiday distributions in addition to the regular monthly food distributions in November and December. Special holiday distributions are given to clients during regular grocery distribution hours. Items include in holiday distributions may vary.
