Volunteer Application

***PLEASE NOTE: Due to the Food Bank's current Health & Safety protocol related to the COVID-19 virus, new volunteer opportunities are much more limited than usual. We are intentionally limiting the number of people that we have in our building at any given time. While new volunteer applications are welcomed, we may not have opportunities available right away. Thank you for your understanding and support!


Volunteer as an Individual:

1. Complete the Volunteer Application. Make sure to fill in the section regarding your availability (days of week and time of day).

2. Save and send an electronic copy of your completed application to volunteer@scfoodbank.org or mail a paper copy to: Volunteer Coordinator, 1321 South Atherton Street, State College, PA 16801.

3. Once your application is received, you will be contacted via email or telephone. We hold New Volunteer Orientations on an as-needed basis throughout the year. You will be notified if new volunteers are not needed at the time of your application. All volunteers must complete the necessary training and paperwork. 

4. After completion of the New Volunteer Orientation program, the Volunteer Coordinator will work with new volunteers to determine a suitable schedule and volunteer job assignment.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have submitted a volunteer application but have not heard back from the Food Bank within a few weeks, please call the Volunteer Coordinator at 814.234.2310 or send an email to volunteer@scfoodbank.org.


Volunteer as a Group:

Volunteer groups are utilized throughout the year for special projects and events. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 814.234.2310 or volunteer@scfoodbank.org if you are interested in learning about group volunteering opportunities.
